PUBLIC NOTICE

Effective June 13, 2022, the Mohave County Housing Authority (MCHA) will be accepting applications

Monday – Friday, during normal business hours to be placed on the waiting list for the

Section 8 Tenant-Based Rental Assistance Program at the following locations:

       Kingman                  Community Services Department      700 W. Beale St.               (928) 753-0723

       Lake Havasu City   Community Services Department      2031 Spawr Cir.                (928) 453-0710

       Colorado City         Cherish Families                                  280 W. Township Ave     (928) 753-0723

                        (CSD staff in person only June 13th. mail in applications available after 6/13)                 

Applications accepted in-person or by mail if postmarked on or before 7/8/22.

Applications will be accepted from June 13th through July 8, 2022 and will then close until further notice.

Eligibility and Preference Requirements:

MCHA will be accepting applications from households with incomes that do not exceed 50% of the area median income for Mohave County, as established by HUD: (Income Limits may be subject to change)

Local preferences established by MCHA will determine the family’s position on the Waiting List.

Families who qualify for a local preference will be given priority over non-preference families.

The local preferences established by MCHA are:

(35 pts) Elderly (62 +) or Disabled Head of Household or Spouse/Co-Head(30 pts) Victims of Domestic Violence not Working or going to School/Training
(35 pts) Family Working or going to School/Training(30 pts) Homeless not Working or going to School/Training
(35 pts) Homeless Working or going to School/Training (25 pts) Not a Mohave County Resident
(35 pts) Victims of Domestic Violence Working or going to School/Training (40 pts) Homeless Non-Elderly (18-61 years) Disabled
(30 pts) Family not Working or going to School/Training(40 pts) Formerly Homeless Non-Elderly (18-61 years) Disabled currently in Permanent Supportive Housing or Rapid Rehousing Project
